Having learned last season that the ethereal plane the Speed Force occupies is no easy place to escape, we must tip our hats to Barry Allen for having the courage to go back there. Honestly, he probably hoped never to do so, but knowing the selfless hero that he is, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do to bring back Wally West, who also happens to be a vital element in the plan to save Iris in the future.

In this freshly released featurette, executive producer Aaron Helbing lends some insight into just how taxing this trial will be. Not only that, but facsimiles of Eddie Thawne, Leonard Snart and Ronnie Raymond will also be encountered along the way, something we learned from a batch of images that hit the web not long ago.

Aside from all the sci-fi craziness, it’s our hope that new details concerning the mystery surrounding Savitar come to light. It’s been made quite obvious that we won’t learn his identity until at least two weeks from now, but that doesn’t mean the producers can’t throw us a bone in the meantime.

For more information, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

Desperate to stop Savitar and save his friends, Barry (Grant Gustin) turns to the speed force for answers. H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) gives Jesse (guest star Violett Beane) some advice. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Brooke Roberts & Judalina Neira.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.
