Pat Gleason Talks Superman: Reborn In New Video

I can say with the utmost confidence that the Superman family of titles are among the best DC has to offer right now. Not only do they boast some of the finest creative talent the publisher currently employs, but they also contain some of the young Rebirth era's most compelling mysteries. Needless to say, any time a new issue of Superman or Action Comics arrive, it's guaranteed to be placed at the top of my reading pile.

Although June 2016 may not seem like that long ago, anyone who vehemently follows any serialized television show or comic book can attest to how that feels like a dog’s age when you’re waiting for a long gestating plot point to fully play out. So, if you can relate and also happen to follow these books, then you know what a big deal the “Superman: Reborn” crossover is.

In the latest episode of DC All Access, co-host Jason Inman chatted with Pat Gleason – co-writer/artist on the Superman side of things – in order to get the inside scoop. And while the acclaimed creator wasn’t able to spoil any specific plot points, he did say we’re going to learn more about the mysterious Mr. Oz and finally learn why the Kent/Smith family “aren’t what they seem” before the month concludes.

Personally, I can’t wait to find out who the non-powered Clark Kent is. As of now, all signs point toward next week’s Action Comics #975 containing the big reveal. In this week’s installment, DC provided a series of possible suspects in a column, but odds are that none of the above are the man in question. Here’s to hoping it’s Superboy Prime.

Superman #18 is now available in comic shops. For more, be sure to check out our review.
