There’s A “Very Good Chance” Daniel Craig Will Return For Bond 25, Says Naomie Harris

It's now been well over a year since the last James Bond film, Spectre, hit theaters and we still haven't heard much about the next entry yet. Bond 25, as it's being called, is being shrouded in much secrecy (which isn't terribly surprising), so much so that we can't even say for certain whether or not Daniel Craig will be back to reprise the role. He's bounced back and forth on the issue more times than we can count, or keep track of, and it seems that he always has a different answer whenever asked about it.

It’s now been well over a year since the last James Bond film, Spectre, hit theaters and we still haven’t heard much about the next entry yet. Bond 25, as it’s being called, is being shrouded in much secrecy (which isn’t terribly surprising), so much so that we can’t even say for certain whether or not Daniel Craig will be back to reprise the role. He’s bounced back and forth on the issue more times than we can count, or keep track of, and it seems that he always has a different answer whenever asked about it.

The actor doesn’t seem ready to make his mind up at the moment but if we’re to believe his co-star Naomie Harris, Craig won’t be going anywhere when it comes time to make the next James Bond movie. She recently spoke with the BBC and had this to say:

“I think there’s a very good chance that Daniel will come back. I think it’s way too early to be thinking about other people at this stage… I think the fact that the last two Bonds – Spectre and Skyfall – have been the highest-grossing Bond movies of all time shows that people love him as Bond, and they desperately want him to return. And I don’t think Daniel is immune to that… I think he’s very aware, so I think that adds an extra level of pressure. But he has to ultimately do what feels right to him. But I know that we, as a cast, collectively want him back. I know that Barbara and Michael – our producers – desperately want him back, so I think the only person that needs persuading is Daniel.”

That’s far from any sort of confirmation of course, but it’s certainly nice to hear that Harris is confident in Craig’s return. He’s one of the best Bonds to date and even though some of his outings as the character were pretty underwhelming (we’re looking at you, Quantum of Solace), the actor himself has never been less than impressive.

Still, that doesn’t mean that we should fully expect to have him back. He’s been on the fence about returning for some time now and so far, it’s not sounding too promising, despite what Harris thinks. Don’t get us wrong, we are hopeful that we’ll get to see Craig in the role one last time, but with this much indecisiveness going on, we’re just not sure it’ll happen.

Given that there was a 3 year wait in between Skyfall and Spectre, it’s going to be a while before we hear anything concrete on Bond 25, but if one thing’s for certain, it’s that the “will he or won’t he?” debate regarding Daniel Craig’s return will continue to rage on until the actor finally puts an end to it.
