Kevin Sorbo Drops Clues About His Supergirl Role

One of the greatest things about Supergirl is the casting, which always seems to be pitch perfect. Striking a tidy balance between able talent, and nods to past televisual glories, the show has already included familiar faces such as Dean Cain from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman, Calista Flockhart from Ally McBeal, and even the original movie Supergirl, Helen Slater. This trend look set to continue with the news that Hercules: The Legendary Journeys star, Kevin Sorbo and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures Of Superman star, Teri Hatcher are set to appear in second season episodes.

As soon as those casting announcements hit the airwaves, speculation began as to who the two icons might portray. These snippets are highly prized pieces of information, however, and little confirmation was forthcoming, beyond the fact that the stars would be popping up. But now, Sorbo has dropped a few clues in a conversation with Entertainment Tonight.

“I leave next week! I’m heading up to Vancouver, and I’ll be doing a three-show arc, and Teri Hatcher’s playing my wife.

“I’m from another planet that’s an arch rival planet of Krypton. Which is now, of course, destroyed.”

It really is anyone’s guess as to which planet this husband-and-wife team will hail from , but it does beg the question of whether Supergirl might have a situation on her hands akin to the season 1 plot point involving evil white Martians hunting for J’onn J’onzz.

Interestingly, Sorbo shared another snippet of information, regarding a near-onscreen-pairing he shared with Teri Hatcher, over 20 years ago.

“Way back in 1993, I actually booked Lois & Clark, and 24 hours later, they cancelled and put in Dean Cain. But, three months later, I got Hercules, so I was okay with it.”

Perhaps some deep-seated resentment of Kryptonians won him the part this time around. We’ll be able to see how he applies that later in season 2 of Supergirl.
