This week’s episode of Legends of Tomorrow featured some huge twists and turns as we learned that Eobard Thawne is on the run from Black Flash, a speedster tasked with tracking down those who abuse the Speed Force. In the Reverse-Flash’s case, he’s running from the fact that he was wiped from existence by his ancestor Eddie Thawne.
Things looked promising for the villainous Speedster and his Legion of Doom though when he managed to restore Rip Hunter’s memories. However, he managed to make some changes to those in order to make the time traveller quite a bit more evil than his old self. Now, he’s invading the American Revolutionary War at the behest of the Legion.
For more on what to expect from this episode of Legends of Tomorrow – titled “Turncoat” – here’s the official episode courtesy of The CW.
When The Legends find a new Time Aberration they learn they must travel to the winter of 1776 to protect George Washington and the American Revolutionary War. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned, forcing Sara (Caity Lotz) to send out Nate (Nick Zano) and Amaya (Maisie-Richardson-Sellers) to help. Meanwhile, Jax (Franz Drameh) and Stein (Victor Garber) who are busy protecting the incapacitated Waverider from their new enemy, are forced to step into roles that they don’t think they are prepared for. Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell and Arthur Darvill also star, Alice Troughton directed the episode written by Grainne Godfree & Matthew Maala.
How long Rip’s new persona will last remains to be seen, but it certainly adds an interesting new dimension to Legends of Tomorrow moving forward. Interestingly, the network has only released four images (instead of the usual 15+), so that could be an indication that there will be even more huge reveals and surprises here. Time will well, but we’re certainly looking forward to finding out what’s in store for us next week.
