With a new episode of Supergirl being mere hours away, there is much to talk about. After kicking off season 2B in style, no doubt thanks to having Kevin Smith in the director’s chair, this series shows no signs of losing any of the momentum it’s gained since jumping networks. Seriously, it’s Flash good.
First, let’s briefly discuss the preview clip that can be viewed at the top. In it, Supergirl and Mon-El are confronted by someone who is “seemingly” Livewire in a garage. Now, this sneak peek may be a bit more spoiler-ish than intended (lest we forget last week’s Arrow debacle), revealing that a new threat may have emerged and is operating under the guise of Leslie Willis. But even if there is a twist to be witnessed, that doesn’t decrease our level of anticipation in the slightest.
Moving on, several promotional stills have been released that give us a better look at Mon-El’s new, um, costume. I guess we could call it that. He only recently decided into get into the superhero game, after all, so let’s give him time to upgrade. As for now, we’ll have to settle for him looking like he’s working private security detail.
Finally, let’s address an interesting poster that actor David Harewood revealed on Instagram. Its caption – “The Martian Chronicles. Coming Soon.” – has already caused speculation to run rampant. A spinoff is probably safe to rule out, but he could be speaking of the ongoing thread being explored that involves himself, Miss Martian and those pesky White Martians. Actually, that’s probably the safest bet and people shouldn’t strain themselves over this one too much.
As for the synopsis we quoted earlier, you can read it in full below:
After Livewire (guest star Brit Morgan) seemingly breaks out of prison, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is intent on recapturing her. After training Mon-El (Chris Wood), Supergirl takes him with her when she sees Livewire attack the NCPD but things go awry when Mon-El puts Supergirl before the citizens of National City. Meanwhile, James (Mehcad Brooks) decides to come clean with Kara and M’Gann (guest star Sharon Leal), has a psychic attack and collapses into a coma.
Supergirl airs on Monday nights on The CW.
