As a kid, one often wonders who’d beat who in a fight. Even adults find themselves caught up in such quandaries, as made evident by last year’s divisive Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Yes, curiosity is a hungry beast, and while such questions usually lead to nothing, it’s always fun to speculate.
Tom Holland seems to agree, as the newfound Peter Parker was recently asked who would win in a fight: Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man or his own version. Expectedly, the actor believes his Peter Parker would make them all eat their webby lunch.
The question came from Short List Magazine (via ComicBookMovie.com) during a recent interview, and it didn’t take long for Holland to come up with his answer.
Me. Absolutely. Hands down.
Oh, snap! Anyone interested in bringing this show to the big screen?
Of course, this is all theoretical and completely silly. Still, it’s fun to see Holland so enthusiastic about his own Spider-Man, and we hope that translates well to the screen when Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters. God knows, we need a good Spidey movie right about now.
Additionally, Holland briefly discussed working with Michael Keaton, who’ll play the villainous Vulture in the upcoming superhero blockbuster:
He’s a badass. We have a fight in the movie and I punch him. He turns around and says [in a deep voice], “I’m Batman.” He kept doing Batman quotes on set.
Holland was quick to impress during his introduction in last summer’s Captain America: Civil War, but we’ll need to wait to see how he fares with his own, brand-spanking new feature film. We’re optimistic, of course, and Holland looks to be too. Here’s hoping for the best.
Spider-Man: Homecoming flings its way into theaters on July 7.
