Killer Frost Confronts The Flash In Extended Promo

Hot on the heels of a generous gallery of new images comes an extended look at next week's episode of The Flash, which is appropriately titled "Killer Frost." With Caitlin Snow's gradual transformation into a supervillain building to a crescendo, it is most fitting this installment be directed by Kevin Smith and co-written by showrunner Andrew Kreisberg. If any episode were to have "quintessential" written all over it, it would probably be this one.

But we must ponder whether or not Caitlin will take a turn for the villainous, despite what Cisco’s portentous vision depicted. Just because Killer Frost lived up to her namesake on Earth-2 doesn’t mean the Caitlin we’ve come to know and love won’t eventually get her emotions (and powers) under control. And, lest we forget, Killer Frost will soon reform herself and walk the heroic path in Steve Orlando’s new Justice League of America comic book series that begins shipping in February, so it’s highly possible that WB is craftily synergizing television and comics.

That aside, it should be interesting to see if we get another glimpse at Savitar, this season’s big bad, who made his long awaited debut last night (see video embedded below). Aesthetically different from The Reverse Flash and Zoom, this impossibly fast supposed demigod will be explored further later this week in our next DC TV Roundup.

For more details on the next episode of The Flash, be sure to check out the official synopsis below:

Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) uses her powers to save Barry (Grant Gustin) but as her mother predicted, the effort unleashes her inner Killer Frost. Killer Frost goes on a rampage looking for Dr. Alchemy, kidnapping Julian (Tom Felton) and battling both The Flash and Vibe (Carlos Valdes). Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) have a heart to heart talk. Kevin Smith directed the episode with story by Judalina Neira and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg & Brooke Roberts.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.
