A few weeks back, set photos from Thor: Ragnarok surfaced online that showed actor Sam Neill filming some scenes. While his involvement in the threequel hadn’t been confirmed at the time, it seems that the cat is now out of the bag, as Neill told Shortlist that he’s indeed involved in the upcoming Marvel flick.
“I’m not really allowed to say this and I can’t tell you what it is… I did a couple of days on Thor just before I came over here. If I say anything else, Marvel’s secret agents — and they are lethal — will come and get me and probably my children, as well.”
Shortly after that, the actor also had some fun on Twitter, teasing his role to fans:
Not sure I’m IN #ThorRagnarok exactly. Was ON SET 4 or 5 days. Making tea for @TaikaWaititi mostly. Working out w @chrishemsworth etc https://t.co/p6RtY35ej9

Though we don’t know who he’ll be playing yet, Neill’s involvement here makes sense, as he recently worked with director Taika Waititi on Hunt for the Wilderpeople and also co-starred alongside Jeff Goldblum (who’s also in Ragnarok) in Jurassic Park. Given that he was only on set for a couple of days, Neill’s role is likely nothing more than a cameo, or something quite small, but we’re excited to see him involved nonetheless.
As for the film itself, we’re still in the dark with regards to what we should expect. Recent rumors have surfaced that point to it having some serious tie-ins with Avengers: Infinity War though, and we also know that both The Warriors Three and the titular hero’s roommate may make an appearance as well.
Aside from all that, and the much talked about large role for Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, we don’t really know too much about Ragnarok, as Marvel has kept a tight lid on this one. Expect that all to change very soon though, as we’re just over a year away from its arrival now.
Thor: Ragnarok hits theatres on November 3rd, 2017, and seeing as it’s set to be one of Marvel’s biggest films to date, we can’t wait to find out what the studio has in store for us.
