A new cinematic trailer for Dead Rising 4 has emerged by way of Microsoft that aims to get you in the Christmas Spirit ahead of the survival-horror’s release on December 6.
The animated short doesn’t feature any new gameplay (actually, there’s no in-game footage at all), but it does act as a helpful public information video about how dangerous the combination of Black Friday with a zombie apocalypse would be.
The former, otherwise known as the biggest shopping day of the year, isn’t exactly the safest day to be out on the streets at the best of times, but when you throw a horde of rotten, brain-eating undead into the mix, all hell is bound to break loose.
The mall featured in the footage is, we can only presume, supposed to be the Willamette shopping centre – the setting of the original game as well as Dead Rising 4, although the latter’s version will be expanded upon to add new areas and other features, according to Capcom.
Officially unveiled during Microsoft’s E3 conference in June, the zombie horror sequel is set 16 years after the original, and sees the return of journalist Frank West to the starring role. Due to launch first on Xbox One and Windows 10 on December 6, a PlayStation 4 version of Dead Rising 4 will follow at some point next year, after Capcom’s exclusivity deal with Microsoft comes to an end.
