Voyage Of Time: Life’s Journey Trailer Unveils The Full Cut Of Malick’s Space Opus

Empire has pulled back the curtain on Voyage of Time: Life's Journey, the feature-length version of Terrence Malick's forthcoming space opus.

When Terrence Malick’s long-anticipated space documentary Voyage of Time lands later this year, it’ll arrive in two SKUs; the first of which is The IMAX Experience, a truncated 45-minute version to be narrated by Brad Pitt. Those on the hunt for a more comprehensive experience need look no further than Life’s Journey, the feature-length cut of Malick’s space opus that will feature the dulcet tones of Cate Blanchett.

Brought to life in stunning fashion by VFX steward Dan Glass, who previously collaborated with the filmmaker on The Tree Of Life, Malick is aiming big with Voyage of Time – so big, in fact, that his first documentary is set to chronicle the formative years of the universe and life within it.

“Voyage of Time: Life’s Journey is an exploration into our planetary past and a search for humanity’s place in the future. Humming with the energy of nature itself, the film melds innovative special effects with awe-inspiring footage from around the globe, in search of what lasts, what endures, through time’s changing scenes.”

It’s been a decade in the making, but finally – finally – Terrence Malick’s space opus is nearing its curtain call. On course for a world premiere at next month’s Toronto International Film Festival, Voyage of Time is expected to bow in theaters on October 7.
