Though it won’t answer those burning questions any time soon – chief among them being which of our survivors was on the receiving end of Lucille – AMC has unveiled a sneak peek at The Walking Dead season 7 in motion.
Due to shuffle back onto the airwaves in October, the clip above is all about Dwight (Austin Amelio), the newest series regular among AMC’s cast that has caused quite the stir in the TWD fanbase. That’s because not only is he behind the handlebars of Daryl’s trusted motorcycle, but he’s also wearing our hero’s vest, bringing into question which of the core cast was killed during the dying moments of season 6.
The jury’s still out on whether this is actually a red herring; plus, considering the sheer fandom surrounding the series stalwart – if they kill Daryl, we riot – Norman Reedus’ glowering character is still surely one of those least likely to be bumped off during the premiere of season 7.
Whatever the case, we know that Andrew Lincoln will once again lead the charge against the living and the dead as Rick Grimes, joined by Lauren Cohan, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira, Chandler Riggs, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, Josh McDermitt, Ross Marquand, Christian Serratos and Khary Payton as Ezekiel.
The Walking Dead returns for a seventh season on October 23 at 9 pm ET. It won’t taunt viewers with another nail-biting cliffhanger, although Negan is all but set to “wreak havoc” throughout the first few episodes. The only question now is, will you be tuning in?
