With Destiny‘s first major expansion since The Taken King just over a month away from release, fans of the sandbox shooter are already looking beyond September’s Rise of Iron add-on, wondering what awaits them in the stars ahead. As it turns out, Bungie’s already got a few things in mind for the rest of 2016, most notably the return of the Sparrow Racing League and Festival of the Lost events, which proved to be popular last year.

Speaking to Game Informer, Destiny live team director Jeremy Hook confirmed that both limited-time pieces of content would be returning around the same time that they did originally, but that the former in particular will undergo some changes due to the fact that some players “didn’t like racing.”

When we talk about SRL coming back, it’ll probably be wrapped in a different style, not just focused around SRL. Because some of the stuff that we learned from our players around the Sparrow Racing League is that some people didn’t like racing. So, can you do something with the event that helps support those players a little bit differently? Absolutely.

As for Festival of the Lost, Bungie says that they intend to keep it fresh by adding new masks to collect and, as Game Informer describes, some “other surprises.”

With Destiny 2 not due to launch until some time in 2017, Bungie clearly knows the importance of keeping their player base interested with frequent patches. While Rise of Iron will undoubtedly hold the interest of fans for at least a few months, there’s a long wait indeed until a numbered sequel finally arrives.

Destiny‘s Rise of Iron expansion launches for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 20.
