The casting announcement situation on Spider-Man: Homecoming is spiralling out of control, with multiple new additions to the star-studded ensemble joining every few hours. While most of the actors attached to the webhead’s new solo outing have likely been involved for some time, it’s only now that the trades are getting the intel.
With that being said, following on from news that Breaking Bad-Better Call Saul actor Michael Mando had signed up, Bokeem Woodbine is now confirmed to be part of the film as well.
Specifics on who he’s set to play are, as expected, being kept under wraps, but THR suspects that Woodbine won’t be on the side of the good guys. He’s expected to be teaming up with the movie’s prolific roster of villains that so far includes Michael Keaton and Prometheus‘ Logan Marshall-Green. That pairing are rumored to be playing The Vulture and The Tinkerer. If that’s true, and those two have nabbed those plum roles, there’s a strong chance Woodbine is playing a henchmen.
In any case, it probably won’t be too long before we catch sight of the Fargo actor in action. Principal photography on Spider-Man: Homecoming kicked off recently in Atlanta, as evidenced by that first crop of set photos, so keep your eyes out over the next few weeks for a glimpse at Woodbine in his as-yet unknown role.
