Like most of Marvel’s filmmakers, Scott Derrickson has made the most of social media during production on Doctor Strange. After teasing posters, set pics, and a host of other treats, he’s now gone and delivered a major piece of news — he’s bringing the Sorcerer Supreme to Comic-Con.

Whether Derrickson plots to bring his leading man, Benedict Cumberbatch is yet to be confirmed, but it’s highly likely that the headliner will get trotted out onstage at Hall H. One thing’s for sure, Marvel’s presence at Comic Con won’t be in any danger of getting upstaged by Fox; after a bunch of leaked trailers hit the web last year (ahem, Deadpool), the studio has decided to avoid any potential unfinished footage getting the same treatment. Granted, it’s a shame, but perhaps this might make room for bigger and bolder presentations from Marvel and DC?

Either way, we’re still going to get a fresh look at Cumberbatch’s sorcerer ahead of Doctor Strange‘s release on November 4, 2016. Joining him for Marvel’s first long-stay in the Quantum Realm are Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton.

“Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. Doctor Strange” is the latest film in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Phase 3’s goal—over the course of four years and nine films—is to introduce audiences to new heroes and continue the adventures of fan favorites.”
