Telltale Publishing have announced that they will be bringing the popular survival game 7 Days to Die to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next month. The hit PC game currently has over 1.5 million players, and the developers at Iron Galaxy and The Fun Pimps have recently talked about enjoying the challenge of adapting that formula for a console audience.
In a recent interview that also showcases some new gameplay footage for the multi-genre survival challenge, representatives from each studio spoke at length about the way their game will really stand out against other titles. Set in a brutally unforgiving post-apocalyptic world where humanity have been overrun by the undead, 7 Days to Die is an open-world survival game that’s a unique combination of first person shooter, survival horror, tower defence and role-playing games.
Taking inspiration from a multitude of other titles- from Fallout to Minecraft – the developers sought to turn this into a diverse experience that few others are able to offer console players at this time. The result, they hope, will be a rich and challenging affair that tests a gamer’s ability to manage a well-run defensive structure one minute, before having to gun their way out of trouble in the next.
Check out the interview and the gameplay footage in the video above, and keep an eye out for 7 Days to Die arriving for PS4 and Xbox One on June 28. You can also pre-order the game now to receive exclusive character skins for Michonne and Lee Everett, of Telltale’s popular The Walking Dead series.
