X-Men: Apocalypse finally reaches US theaters on Friday, but a deleted scene from the movie has already appeared in one of the TV spots for the Bryan Singer-helmed release. While stills have indicated that Scott, Jean, Jubilee, and Nightcrawler’s trip to an ’80s era mall makes up at least a few scenes, it ends up consisting solely of them walking out of a screening of Return of the Jedi.
It’s been clear for a while though that some of this sequence ended up on the cutting room floor, and in the video above, we get to see Nightcrawler learning what brain freeze is in a humorous moment which indicates that an earlier version of X-Men: Apocalypse likely spent quite a bit more time with this quartet’s adventure away from the X-Mansion.
While it being trimmed down probably isn’t a massive loss, it would have been nice to spend a little more time with Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse, especially as these scenes being cut ended up mean that the character has only a very small cameo in the film. Hopefully we’ll end up seeing this scene and more on the Blu-ray when it’s released a few months from now anyway.
As well as returning cast members Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult, X-Men: Apocalypse will also introduce Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Lana Condor, Oscar Isaac, Ben Hardy, Olivia Munn and a number of others. The movie is set to be released on May 27th, 2016.
