Rubbing shoulders with fellow freshman dramas The Exorcist and Lethal Weapon, Fox’s retooled and rebooted 24: Legacy is due to make its premiere in the upcoming fall season, and the network rolled out the show’s first trailer late last night, placing Straight Outta Compton‘s Corey Hawkins in the lead role.
Recently securing a 12-episode season order, 24: Legacy opens up a whole new saga in America’s Counter Terrorist Unit from the days of one Jack Bauer. Upon returning home after serving on the frontlines in the Middle East, Hawkins’ decorated military hero soon finds that the global conflict has followed him back to home turf, leading our newfound hero on a wild goose chase to prevent “what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.”
Also starring Miranda Otto, Teddy Sears, Dan Bucatinsky and Jimmy Smits, Fox’s overhauled rendition of 24 will be executive produced by Kiefer Sutherland – who left a legacy of his own not too long ago.
24: Legacy has been slated for a primetime post-Super Bowl premiere on February 5, when the series’ two-night debut continues into February 6. That due date represents a resounding vote of confidence from Fox, making it the network’s first drama to secure the coveted slot after said sporting event. But will you be tuning in?
