Electronic Arts has posted its earnings call for theĀ full fiscal year ending March 31, 2016, heralding news of a “phenomenal” year for the publisher and, unsurprisingly, a Star Wars Battlefront sequel.

It’s now expected to release in 2017, promising “bigger and better worlds” that feature content from Disney’s new wave of feature films. Elsewhere, the third-person Star Wars games in the works at Visceral Games – creative minds behind Dead Space and last year’s Battlefield Hardline – is on course to hit in 2018. No word of when the recently-announced Respawn game will arrive, but considering that the developer is hard at work on Titanfall 2, it’s unlikely to drop anytime before 2018.

As for DICE’s flagship Battlefront series, the franchise is in remarkably good health now that last year’s licensed game has shipped over 14 million copies since launch. That’s a tally that broke past even EA’s internal sales forecasts, and here, the publisher reflected on the triumph.

“FY16 was a phenomenal year for Electronic Arts as we connected hundreds of millions of players to great new games, and helped them connect with each other through rich and dynamic live services,” EA CEO Andrew Wilson said in a statement. “The year ahead is packed with excitement. Fans are thrilled with the intense action and epic scale of Battlefield 1, our EA Sports titles will take major leaps in innovation, and we’ll bring new experiences from our most popular brands to more players on more devices.”

Following up on Battle of Jakku, Star Wars Battlefront fans will soon be bound for the Outer Rim thanks to this summer’s Bespin expansion. Rumors have pegged the DLC for launch in late June, so we can surely expect to learn more in time for E3.
