Paramount is pushing ahead with Daddy’s Home 2, bringing together the entire dysfunctional family that helped fire the original comedy to a relatively healthy box office haul – to the tune of $240 million, no less.

Of those family members on board for the sequel are director Sean Anders (Horrible Bosses 2, Mean Moms) and perhaps most important of all, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Yes, Paramount’s two warring patriarchs are ready for round two, and the studio will be hoping to build another comedic crowd-pleaser on the pair’s undeniable chemistry.

No details were disclosed regarding the story, but we do know that John Morris will once again take point for scripting duties. Further still, Paramount didn’t allude to the chances of Hannibal Buress, Linda Cardelini and/or Thomas Haden Church reprising their roles from Daddy’s Home, though expect more details to arise as the comedy sequel inches closer to a production start.

It’ll have to navigate around both Wahlberg and Ferrell’s busy slates, though. First up, the former has his hands full with Boston marathon drama Patriots’ Day, not to mention Deepwater Horizon, Wahlberg’s third collaboration with Peter Berg. Ferrell, meanwhile, is attached to both The House and James Franco’s dramedy, Zeroville.

Ladies and gentlemen, round two of Brad Whitaker and Dusty Mayron’s monumental dust-up is a lock – Daddy’s Home 2 is official, and is expected to enter production towards the end of 2016 or beginning of 2017. The real question is, will we be seeing new WWE cameos in the vein of the original sleeper hit?
