Dwayne Johnson, ever the one to post punchy status reports from set, has taken to Instagram to officially welcome the arrival of Pamela Anderson to Paramount’s Baywatch reboot.

Having donned the iconic red swimsuit as C.J. Parker all across the original TV series, the last-minute casting addition is a neat coup for the studio, having already inducted David Hasselhoff into the lifeguard ranks. Reflecting on the inherent fan service underpinning next year’s R-rated Baywatch, Johnson captioned the image above by welcoming Anderson back to the sun-kissed beaches.

“She introduced the world to ‘CJ Parker’ and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation – for the most successful TV show of all time,” Johnson said. “A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #BAYWATCH cast. We couldn’t have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us!”

One thing that remains unexplained for now is how exactly Hasselhoff and now Anderson will be woven into the plot of Seth Gordon’s action romp. They will, after all, be playing Mitch Buchannon and C.J. Parker, two roles that have already been snapped up by Dwayne Johnson himself and relative newcomer Kelly Rohrbach, respectively. Will we be seeing some form of flashback sequences come next May? Or is Paramount cooking up something entirely different?

While we speculate, among the confirmed cast that will be trotting onto the beach are Cathal Pendred, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera, Jon Bass, Priyanka Chopra, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and David Hasselhoff.

Baywatch has been slated to arrive May 19, 2017.
