Warner Bros. currently has all hands at the pump in preparation for what will surely be a defining year in the studio’s history. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice may weigh in as the undisputed heavyweight for 2016, but David Ayer’s spirited newcomer Suicide Squad is one we daren’t take our eyes off, with its eclectic mix of comic book characters and jet-black tone.
As promised, Warner has showcased the second full trailer for Ayer’s villain-centric opus tonight, with the new sizzle reel premiering alongside DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League – and it’s an absolute doozy. In fact, this might just be one of the best movie trailers we’ve ever seen. Seriously, it’s that damn good.
[zerg]Showcasing much more of Task Force X and their villainous ways, there’s a very playful vibe to the footage this time around. While the initial Comic-Con reel offered up a snapshot of each character, all housed under the same roof by the unhinged masochist known as Amanda Waller – DC’s no-nonsense version of Nick Fury – it was definitely a lot darker. With this trailer, the tone is completely different and it happens to work very well. Especially as it’s all set to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody.
The whole cast looks to be on their A-game here, too, and we can hardly wait to see the sizzling chemistry between Task Force X unfold on the silver screen in the summer. That being said, this is obviously Margot Robbie’s show and as you can see in the trailer, she’s absolutely killing it in the role, stealing every scene she appears in.
Suicide Squad will act as the next aggressive expansion of the DC Extended Universe when Ayer’s anti-hero feature opens on August 5. Take a look at the new trailer above and make sure to leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
