Deadline is reporting tonight that Laura Prepon has been added to the cast of the currently shooting adaptation, The Girl On The Train. Based on Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel of the same name, the film has Tate Taylor behind the camera and Emily Blunt leading the charge in front as Rachel Wilson.

For those unfamiliar with the source material, Wilson is the story’s protagonist and Deadline describes her as a “drunken divorcee who daydreams about the perfect NYC life of seemingly perfect couple Scott and Megan on her daily commute as she passes their house.” Trouble brews, however, when Megan goes missing and Rachel finds herself caught up in the mystery.

As for Prepon, she’ll step into the shoes of Cathy, the landlord and college friend of Rachel. Rounding out the supporting cast are Haley Bennett, Rebecca Ferguson, Edgar Ramirez and Justin Theroux. Not a bad collection of talent, and with Tate behind the camera, you can bet that this is one adaptation that’s high on many people’s most-anticipated list.

The Girl On The Train is currently shooting and will roll into theatres on October 7th, 2016, with an eye no doubt on awards season.
