After its initial Windows release in 2014 and subsequent console versions arriving in October, Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition is now available for Mac and Linux. Larian Studios worked hard on expanding the availability of their seminal RPG for quite some time after the game’s first release, and are now understandably proud to offer it to such widespread users.
The game was originally funded through a Kickstarter project, and serves as a prequel to 2002’s Divine Divinity. The Enhanced Edition features additional gameplay content and more game modes than the original, which secured over 150 GOTY awards and nominations when it released. Larian themselves introduce new players to their title with the following:
As a Source Hunter your job is to rid the world of those who use the foulest of magics. Embarking on what should have been a routine murder investigation, you find yourself in the middle of a plot that threatens to destroy the very fabric of time. Create your path through an epic story with class-free character progression, turn-based combat, and no-strings-attached co-op, Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition offers a true roleplaying experience with the freedom of a pen-and-paper game.
If you’ve been unable to get hold of Divinity: Original Sin thus far, then this more readily available version may be just the thing to hook you in before the planned sequel releases in 2016.
