XSEED Games has today confirmed the launch date for the continuation of their acclaimed RPG series, with The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel due for release in North America on December 22nd. The Trails series is the immensely popular franchise from Nihon Falcom, which sits under the 25 year legacy of The Legend Of Heroes.
As well as confirming the release date for these two versions, XSEED have also announced the availability of an additional limited edition:
Alongside the standard edition, the limited “Lionheart Edition” will also be available in stores, containing an art book featuring over 100 pages of art from both this game and its upcoming 2016 sequel, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II, plus a 1.5” emblem pin representing the Erebonian Empire, all packaged in a custom collectible box designed to house both titles.
The PS3 and PS Vita releases for this latest instalment come fairly quickly after the localized, North American release of the second chapter in The Trails In The Sky earlier this year. The suggestion seems to be that the localization process was worked on simultaneously, leading to hopes that future instalments of the series may prove to find their way out of Japan a little quicker than in the past.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel will cost $39.99 physically as well as digitally, while the limited Lionheart Edition will be $49.99.
