After news of Naughty Dog and Sony deciding to bring the multiplayer beta forward by 24 hours for those in Europe, the first wave of gameplay videos have begun to surface for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, showcasing the two arenas available in the early vertical slice: Madagascar City and Island.
YouTube user Westie has posted an extensive clip from the sequel’s online component, giving us a comprehensive look at gameplay and the all-new Mystical power-ups. Fans of The Last of Us‘ multiplayer will feel right at home upon viewing the video above, and it’s reassuring to know that Naughty Dog is modelling Uncharted 4‘s online after a tried and tested formula – albeit swapping post-apocalyptic survival for swashbuckling adventure.
[zerggaming]Going off of the gameplay shown, there’s a tremendous amount of freedom within the arena – there’s only one map available in the beta – and that the entire thing runs at a buttery smooth 60fps is a testimony to the technical chops behind the pixels. It should be noted that, according to Sony’s official statement, the visuals are rendered in 900p and then upscaled to 1080p, as opposed to running in the latter resolution natively.
Whether you’re in North America or Europe, you’ll need to own a copy of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection in order to access the bout of testing.
Weighing in at 7GB size, the multiplayer beta for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will run throughout the course of the weekend, before Naughty Dog’s anticipated sequel debuts exclusively on PlayStation 4 on March 18, 2016. As for the beta, those in North America can access the testing from 9 AM PST/12 PM EST.
