With a firm premiere date now in place – January 5th, to be specific – Marvel has unveiled the first teaser clip for the hotly-anticipated Agent Carter season 2, which sees Hayley Atwell’s brilliant covert agent descend on Hollywood.
Aiming to retain the stylish aesthetic and brisk, compelling storytelling of its initial run, the show’s sophomore season will continue to explore the battle-tested bond between Peggy and Edwin Jarvis, as played by Broadchurch star James D’Arcy. They’ll reunite once again to foil the dastardly plans pitched by Hydra, along with an impressive cast that includes Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, Lyndsy Fonseca and Bridget Regan.
Headed up by showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas, Agent Carter season 2 isn’t merely changing location ahead of its return, with Marvel welcoming aboard a series of newcomers including Wynn Everett as the nefarious Whitney Frost (AKA Madame Masque), Ken Marino as crime boss Joseph Manfredi, and Lotte Verbeek as Ana Jarvis. Kurtwood Smith, Reggie Austin, and Currie Graham round out the ensemble.
Marvel’s Agent Carter returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable secret agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home — and perhaps even a new love — she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.
Hayley Atwell’s title and brilliant agent returns to the fray for another bout of action when Marvel’s Agent Carter season 2 premieres on Tuesday, January 5th with a special two-hour premiere.
