Jimmy McGill will soon be up to his conniving ways once more, with Better Call Saul season 2 now set to premiere on Monday, February 15 at 10:00 pm PT/ET, AMC has announced.
News come on the heels of a pair of teasers for the show’s sophomore outing, preparing you for another whirlwind of legal loopholes and the rat-a-tat pace of Jimmy’s flailing attempts to establish himself as a presence in the Albuquerque justice system. Slotting into a similar time period as its inaugural season, Better Call Saul season 2 is arriving off the back of a record-breaking opening run, which went down as one of the highest-rated rookie seasons in cable history.
That’s a high bar to vault over, but with Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould and Bob Odenkirk returning as the titular bumbling lawman, we have every faith that AMC can skirt around the common pitfalls of releasing the proverbial second album.
“Jimmy McGill’s journey takes surprising, left-handed turns in season two of ‘Better Call Saul.’ He goes to places we’d never, ever expected. As for Mike Ehrmantraut, he’s pulled deeper into a world he was sure he’d left forever,” said Peter Gould, executive producer and showrunner. “We can’t wait to share the next chapter of ‘Better Call Saul’ with the fans who have embraced the show.”
Continuing to expand the world first laid by Vince Gilligan, AMC’s critically-acclaimed prequel series will likely welcome back Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut, and while a cameo by Walter White has been categorically ruled out for now, we can look forward to the spinoff show beginning to spread its wings as it escapes from the shadow of its parent series Breaking Bad.
AMC’s motor-mouthed criminal lawyer will continue to climb the ladder by any means possible when Better Call Saul season 2 premieres on Monday, February 15.
