It’s been rumoured for a while now that Hugh Jackman will appear in X-Men: Apocalypse, though we’ve yet to get any sort of official confirmation on that. Based on what we do know though, it doesn’t sound like the character will not have a role anywhere near as significant as the one he took on in last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. In fact, there’s a chance his scenes haven’t even been shot yet.
According to a new report, X-Men: Apocalypse – which wrapped up filming back in August – is now set to undergo some reshoots. Those are scheduled to happen in January, and are far from a big deal.
[zergpaid]While the reshoots on some movies are more extreme than others (Fantastic Four is a perfect example of that), it’s common for any big budget blockbuster to go through at least some, so there’s really no need to start worrying about X-Men: Apocalypse just yet.
However, here’s where things get really interesting. A report from Le Journal de Montréal claims that “it seems that Hugh Jackman will be on hand” for these reshoots. Now, there are a number of ways to look at this. It could be that Bryan Singer and the studio want more Wolverine in the movie, a handful of scenes featuring the character need to be tidied up a little, or his schedule didn’t permit for him to film a cameo before now.
In a year with films like Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America: Civil War, it’s easy to imagine X-Men: Apocalypse being somewhat overshadowed, and more Wolverine might just ensure that doesn’t happen.
