With the prolonged beta test set to conclude tomorrow on all platforms, EA has formally unveiled the $50 season pass for Star Wars Battlefront.
Comprising four post-launch expansions, two weeks of early access for each slice of DLC and a “Shoot First” emote, you can find further details on the premium package via the publisher’s official page. It’s unclear whether this add-ons will introduce new maps for a particular mode within the multiplayer component or the game’s Missions section, but we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
For now, here’s the official logline from EA:
We’re also excited to announce the Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass*, which extends the game with four expansion packs coming at a later date, filled with new content that will take you to new locations across a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass owners will also secure two-week early access to each expansion pack and an exclusive “Shoot First” emote.
As one of the biggest licensed titles in recent memory, it’s hardly surprising that Star Wars Battlefront is getting the season pass treatment, even if we’re a little disappointed after the goodwill emanating from the extended beta. After all, one of the early criticisms of the high-profile shooter has been directed to the title’s scant and shallow content, and announcing a season pass prior to release isn’t likely to win over any doubters.
After gaining a welcome extension, EA and DICE will bring the curtain down on the Star Wars Battlefront beta tomorrow on all platforms, before releasing the shooter in earnest on November 17.
