Yesterday, we were treated to a slice of Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur via a really rather brilliant trailer, alluding to the grand adventure that awaits Arlo the Apatosaurus. Now, the studio has debuted an array of high-resolution images for the animation, showcasing its wondrous, primordial vistas and towering, yet oddly cute beasts.
Peter Sohn’s prehistoric feature earns our attention right off the bat for being an original property – one which orbits around Arlo, the titular dino who becomes lost in the wilderness with only himself for company. It doesn’t take long for him to cross paths with a budding new friend, though, with that title falling to a feral young boy known as Spot. Together, the pair set about weaving their own story, encountering forgetful triceratops and grouchy T-Rexes along the way.
As some of the best storytellers in the business, we’re haboring a cautious sense of optimism for The Good Dinosaur. Truth be told, Pixar’s latest animation hasn’t enjoyed the smoothest voyage to release, with an overhaul to the film’s voice cast and director changeover to deal with, though each piece of promo material only evokes a childish sense of wonder – and that is really what Pixar is all about.
Raymond Ochoa, Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn,A.J. Buckley, Anna Paquin, Sam Elliott, Frances McDormand, Marcus Scribner and Jack Brigh all lend their vocal chords for the picture.
A grand adventure is afoot for Arlo, and his coming-of-age story will play out in full when Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur marches into theaters on November 25.
