Some new Battlefield 3 information is emerging from E3 today. First up, we have details on the launch date. Battlefield 3 will hit store shelves on October 25th, avoiding Modern Warfare 3 by two weeks. Smart move? I’d say so.
As for the beta, it’s going to start in September and will be open to those who purchased a copy of Medal of Honor (the limited edition) last year. There is currently no other way to get into the beta, although I’m sure that will change.
So there you have it, beta in September and official release in October, excited?
“We are proud to finally open the curtains and reveal Battlefield 3. The core development team has been together since 2005. We’ve grown together, taken some knocks together and now, we’re ready to take first person shooters to a whole new level, together,” said producer Patrick Bach. Like so many gamers out there, we’ve had some pretty wild ideas about what we’d want to see in a shooter. Until now, it was all just fantasy. But with Frostbite 2, even our most far-reaching ideas are becoming a reality. This is the game we’ve always wanted to create.”
