Girls is not a show for everyone, but like any divisive series, the HBO drama has a very devoted following. If you’re a fan then, it may come as a blow to learn that creator and star Lena Dunham is planning on ending the series after season six. That means the upcoming season five will now be the penultimate season, so enjoy it while you still can.
Here’s what Dunham had to say in a recent interview about the future of the show:
“Never say never, but that is the way we’re thinking about it right now and we’re starting to think about sort of how to wrap up the storylines of these particular young women…It’s really exciting. I started working on this show when I was 23, and I’m going to be 30 so it kind of feels right that this show kind of sandwiched my 20s and then I go off into the world.”
Even if you’ve never watched Girls, you’ll no doubt be familiar with some of the talent it’s introduced the world too. Among them is of course Adam Driver, an actor whose career is no doubt going to explode when he takes on the role of Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens later this year.
