Machine Games wants to do it, Bethesda has strongly hinted at it, and now it looks as though a direct sequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order has been all but confirmed by Polish actress, Alicja Bachleda-Curuś.

Lending her voice and likeness to B.J. Blazkowicz’s friend Anya Oliwa in the acclaimed 2014 shooter, Bachleda-Curuś has strongly suggested that she will reprise her role for a follow-up, revealing to Polish TV station TVN that she is working on a “second one.” Translated by Eurogamer, here’s what the voice actress had to share about the unannounced project.

“I’m working on a video game, first part of which I have already made. Now we’re making a second one, which will take two more years. I played this game as a child. I was very happy when I got to the point where I could shoot Hitler.”

While Bachleda-Curuś doesn’t reference The New Order explicitly, her comments are the strongest hint yet that Bethesda is indeed working on a sequel. Last we heard from Machine Games the developer reaffirmed that it had a “very clear idea” for the new installment, which would likely progress the story of Blazkowicz and Co. after standalone DLC The Old Blood explored the events prior to The New Order.

However, Bethesda’s slate is currently jam-packed what with Dishonored 2, DOOM and November’s Fallout 4, so even if a sequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order is in the works, it’s unlikely to be much more than skeleton project at this point in time.

Going off of Bachleda-Curuś’ yet-to-be-confirmed comments, a direct sequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order would likely be released in 2017, though we’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
