Before hitting newsstands in a few days’ time, Empire has lifted the curtain on its November 2015 issue featuring the lead hero and villain of Sam Mendes’ hotly-anticipated spy sequel, Spectre.

Not only will Bond and Franz Oberhauser adorn the cover – played by Daniel Craig and Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz – but the outlet has confirmed that the soon-to-be-released issue will also feature a section edited by Mendes himself, so expect plenty of information about the thriller to seep out in the coming weeks.

With Sam Smith now in place to sing the theme song for Spectre and a mere six weeks between now and its release, Sony and MGM are beginning to get the pistons firing on the ol’ marketing machine.

Sending Daniel Craig’s weathered 00 agent on his most personal mission yet, Mendes’ latest picks up shortly after the fallout of Skyfall, where a new executive (Andrew Scott) has been brought in to MI6 to oversee – and indeed question – its operations. Shouldering claims that his time holding the license to kill is nearing an end, Bond ventures off the radar to locate and uncover the titular organization, confronting Waltz’s chief nemesis in the process.

Sam Mendes’ Spectre will arrive in theaters on November 6 and you’d be best getting comfortable, with UK cinema chains seemingly revealing that Sony and MGM’s spy thriller clocks in at an eye-watering, bum-numbing 160 minutes.
