The legendary Peter Bogdanovich is back behind the camera for She’s Funny That Way, his first feature film in over a decade. A throwback to the screwball comedies of old, the flick focuses on a love triangle that forms “on the set of a playwright’s new project between his wife, her ex-lover, and the call girl-turned-actress cast in the production.”
With a star studded cast, that consists of Owen Wilson, Jennifer Anniston and Imogen Poots, and a handful of genuine laughs along the way, She’s Funny That Way is an energetic and entertaining film from Bogdanovich, one that shows us he’s still got what it takes to pull of slapstick comedy. It’s also a nice breath of fresh air amidst all the blockbusters that have been piling into theatres lately.
A couple of weeks back, at the film’s LA press day, we had the chance to catch up with the director to talk about his most recent project. During our discussion, he spoke about how Noah Baumbach and Wes Anderson encouraged him to make She’s Funny That Way, the connection that he has to those two filmmakers, and more.
Check out what Peter had to say in the video above and be sure to catch She’s Funny That Way as it’s now in theatres.
