Olivia Wilde is the latest (and sexiest) addition to the cast of The Words, according to /Film. The film’s script, which was written by Tron: Legacy writers Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal, appeared on the Black List (the annual list of Hollywood’s best unproduced screenplays) and will be the writing duo’s directorial debut.

A dramatic thriller, The Words tells the story of a successful author who must face the consequences of stealing another man’s work. Bradley Cooper (Limitless) will play the film’s successful, but tormented, author. Joining him are Zoe Saldana, Ben Barnes, John Hannah, J.K. Simmons, Nora Arnezeder, Jeremy Irons, and Dennis Quaid. Filming is set to begin this month in Montreal, Quebec.

I’m excited to see the full cast in play for this film. Having Wilde and Saldana together on the big screen alone makes paying for this movie worth it. However, I have some misgivings about casting Cooper as the main lead. This will be the actor’s second outing as a writer, having played one recently in Limitless, and while I enjoy him as an actor I question his decision to play one again so soon.

Most actors become typecast for playing the same roles over and over but they usually involve playing the same personality type (the action hero, the funny guy, the hot girl, etc.). Never is the role almost exactly the same. In The Words, Cooper is essentially playing an author who undergoes emotional turmoil for some questionable decisions… Replace ‘The Words‘ by ‘Limitless‘ and the sentence still works. The role is too similar.

What do you think? Am I imagining it?
