Gripping First Trailer For The Walking Dead Season 6 Shuffles Online

While an array of heavy-hitters will battle for their stake of the mindshare in the cinematic space, one television show that has become a Hall H staple is AMC's immensely popular zombie series The Walking Dead, and it's a popularity that has yet to show signs of faltering five years in. While an array of heavy-hitters will battle for their stake of the mindshare in the cinematic space, one television show that has become a Hall H staple is AMC’s immensely popular zombie series The Walking Dead, and it’s a popularity that has yet to show signs of faltering five years in. Because now, as promised, the network has unveiled the gripping first trailer for season 6 during the annual Comic-Con convention.

Due to premiere in October, this is our first look at the new season in motion. Offering a much better look at the status of Rick and his ragtag crew following the events of season 5’s finale earlier this year, the footage is a tense and ominous look at what’s to come later in the year, as it looks to be that the once-alluring walls of Alexandria aren’t what they seemed at first.

Operating as showrunner, Scott M. Gimple recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about The Walking Dead season 6, and the possibility of branching off from the comics during the course of the new season.

I’ll say this: I think there’s a really cool aspect to the first half of the season that serves almost as a prequel to some direct comic stuff in the second half of the season. I think there’s a way that Robert [Kirkman] did some of the story that we’re reaching that had a real past to it, where people are referring to some things in the past in the comic. And we’re able to portray some of that backstory in some ways that you didn’t get to see in the comic.

The Walking Dead will return for season 6 on AMC Sunday, October 11th at 9 p.m with an expanded 90-minute episode. What do you think of the reveal trailer? Let us know in the comments below.
