Eager to capitalize on the hype surrounding George Miller’s upcoming, bombastic blockbuster, Warner Bros. Interactive has today revealed the release date and pre-order incentives for Mad Max.
Due to launch across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on September 1 and September 4 in North America and Europe, respectively, Avalanche Studios’ open-world title will take place in the ravaged, post-apocalyptic Wasteland, putting players in control of the titular lone survivor. And while the long-gestating title had been slated for release on PS3 and Xbox 360, Game Informer suggests that the last-gen versions have “fallen by the wayside” as the development team chose to double down on the more resource-intensive versions of the game.
For those who wish to pre-order ahead of time, Warner Bros. has detailed the Ripper content pack, which will include a fully customizable build of the “Magnum Opus” vehicle, which probably wouldn’t look out of place in Fast and Furious 10: The Apocalypse — we jest, of course.
After a prolonged development, Avalanche Studios is finally ready to bring its Just Cause expertise to the Mad Max IP when the open-world title arrives on PS4, Xbox One and PC on September 1.
Mad Max delivers open world gameplay in a post-apocalyptic setting where cars are the key to survival. Developed by Avalanche Studios, gamers become Mad Max, a lone warrior who must fight to stay alive in The Wasteland, using vicious on-ground and vehicular combat against savage bandits. Following the theft of his iconic Interceptor, Max must align himself with a gifted, but peculiar, mechanic named Chumbucket and others to build the ultimate war vehicle as he works to escape from the dangerous Wasteland.
