After three seasons and three awards for Toni Collette, Showtime has announced that United States of Tara will not return for a fourth season. There was better news for Emmy winner Edie Falco as the network announced that her show Nurse Jackie was renewed for a fourth season, according to Entertainment Weekly.
United States of Tara was a critical success with numerous accolades for its leading lady Toni Collette. Collette won an Emmy award in the show’s first season for her portrayal of the show’s main character that has seven different personalities. She was also nominated for an Emmy this year.
Nurse Jackie has been a ratings success for Showtime despite the criticism the show received during the first season. The New York State Nurses Association criticized the main character for her behavior which includes abusing prescription drugs and having an affair.
This summer Showtime will premiere new episodes of its other renewed original series, The Real L Word, The Big C and Weeds.
