The Wasteland Beckons In New Poster For Tom Hardy’s Mad Max: Fury Road

Ever since George Miller's reboot-slash-sequel roared onto the scene back at Comic-Con with an explosive debut trailer, we haven't heard much about the status of Mad Max: Fury Road hitherto. Coming by way of Warner Bros., the fourth entry in the post-apocalyptic series is the first film to bear the classic title in more than thirty years, so there's a particular brand of expectation resting on Fury Road's burly shoulders.

Ever since George Miller’s reboot-slash-sequel roared onto the scene back at Comic-Con with an explosive debut trailer, we haven’t heard much about the status of Mad Max: Fury Road hitherto. Coming by way of Warner Bros., the fourth entry in the post-apocalyptic series is the first film to bear the classic title in more than thirty years, so there’s a particular brand of expectation resting on Fury Road‘s burly shoulders.

And though we’ll have to wait patiently until Miller’s movie is released in the summer of next year to garner a comprehensive verdict, the studio has unveiled a new poster for Mad Max: Fury Road that draws attention to the stark, graphic art style. What a lovely day indeed.

As you’re probably already well aware, Fury Road will center around the titular scavenger (Tom Hardy) who finds himself caught amidst some of the most formidable survivors in the entire Wasteland. Hunted by a malevolent warlord known only as Immortan Joe, it’s up to Max to team up with Charlize Theron’s Furiosa in order to take down the megalomaniac.

Billed as a renaissance of the franchise, it’s been a long and treacherous road for Mad Max: Fury Road, but it appears as though George Miller’s long-gestating sequel is finally ready to make its bow.

Mad Max: Fury Road will have its desert showdown when it blasts into theaters on May 15, 2015.

Mad

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
