Chariot, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Highlight October’s Games With Gold Offering

September is drawing to a close, leaves are starting to change colour and fall, and the night air is getting chillier by the day. All of that adds up to one thing, that being October's presence drawing ever-closer. That's a good thing, though, because it not only means that each year's best month is about to return, but that we've also discovered which new Xbox Games With Gold titles we'll be able to download once the calendar turns a page.

September is drawing to a close, leaves are starting to change colour and fall, and the night air is getting chillier by the day. All of that adds up to one thing, that being October’s presence drawing ever-closer. That’s a good thing, though, because it not only means that each year’s best month is about to return, but that we’ve also discovered which new Xbox Games With Gold titles we’ll be able to download once the calendar turns a page.

This time around, Xbox One will only receive one free downloadable game, that being Canadian-developed ID@Xbox title, Chariot. It will task players with guiding the wheeled coffin of a princess’ dead father through caves, forests and other fantastical locations, by using a combination of both rope and physics. Along the way, co-operative combat and couch-based teamwork will play large roles.

Chariot will apparently take over for Super T.I.M.E. Force, which acted as September’s great freebie.

On the Xbox 360 side of things, a couple of very solid retail titles will see their Games on Demand price tags drop to zero dollars and zero cents. The first game on said list happens to be Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which will be available for the first half of the month, before Darksiders II takes its place.

Although I personally prefer the first games in both series to their sequels, this duo of Xbox 360 offerings are well-made and easy to recommend. Thus, October will easily be the promotion’s best month, at least when it comes to the 360. Chariot is still a question mark on Xbox One, but that said, it’s tough to be disappointed with this upcoming Games With Gold list.
