Grand Theft Auto V is still expected to be released on the new generation of consoles this November, but PC gamers will have to patiently suffer through another delay before they get their hands on the game. At least this time though, it’s a much shorter delay, with the new date set for January 27th, 2015.
When questioned about the delay, Rockstar commented with the following on their website:
“We’re glad to see so many of you are excited for the upcoming release of the new versions of GTA V and we look forward to sharing more details with you soon. We are also incredibly excited to be bringing GTA V to the PC, but the game requires a little more development time in order to ensure that it is as amazing and polished as possible. Please do stay tuned as we reveal new features and information about all the new versions in the weeks ahead.”
Admittedly, that is a pretty generic explanation, so who knows what is really going on. It should be noted that Rockstar does not have the greatest track record when optimizing their games for PC. They are often overbloated in size and rarely look a great degree superior to their console counterparts. To make matters worse, the games usually demand much work from your PC to run properly. This isn’t to say that Grand Theft Auto V will be a disaster when it is released on PC, but when you don’t have much of a reasoning for yet another delay, it’s only natural to look in the history books to gauge a perception of what the issue could be.
Nevertheless, Grand Theft Auto V will inevitably receive a major update regarding everything from graphics, new weapons, more wildlife to make roadkill out of, and more. Truthfully, the game is a masterpiece and I have no doubt that whenever it is released for PC, gamers will be in for a treat.
