You had to see it coming. With all the recent commotion about the upcoming film The Social Network (a film that will tell the story of the founding of Facebook) a Google movie has now been announced. Not many details are known yet but Deadline is reporting that it will be based on the book Googled: The End of the World As We Know It.
The rights to Ken Auletta’s book, are being acquired by Michael London’s Groundswell Productions and producer John Morris. The book chronicles the founding of the company and the company’s subsequent rise to power. It will tell the story of the two founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and how they formed Google and grew it into what it is today.
The film is still in the very early stages of development and obviously there is no cast or director attached yet. It’s going to be a while before we get any concrete news on the film. We’ll keep you updated as more news is made available.
On a side note, I’m guessing it’s only a few months before we get the announcement of a Twitter movie.
