DayZ is going to break away from the PC and allow Playstation 4 players to start murdering each other over cans of beans. Designer Dean Hall spoke during the Playstation Gamescom 2014 conference today, confirming that the multiplayer survival game will arrive on the console. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to give us any real information as to when we should expect it. He did mention though that while Bohemia is working on the PS4 version, it’s still going to continue improving upon the experience for PC players.
Quite frankly, I’m a bit worried about this one. DayZ is a fine game. However, it is nowhere near finished for the PC and is still being sold as an early access game. In fact, you could argue that the free mod version of the game for Arma II is in a more complete stage.
I imagine that Bohemia will have two separate sets of teams working on the project, similar to how Mojang has been developing Minecraft. But still, I suspect there will be more than a few gamers who are just a bit skeptical about this.
