Through his company’s podcast, Hideo Kojima has announced that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will receive free DLC in the very near future. However, we’re not sure of when North American and European gamers will gain access to the content. That’s because, despite the fact that “5/1” can be seen in the developer’s supplied image, the text that surrounds it cannot be read. As such, it’s unclear as to whether it’s a Japanese regional release date, or a worldwide launch date.
Said downloadable content won’t exactly be new to the game. Instead, it will simply give all players access to all of the stealth-action precursor’s platform-exclusive content. This includes the Xbox One exclusive Raiden mission, “Jamais Vu,” as well as the PlayStation 4 exclusive “Deja Vu” mission and Classic Snake Skin.
As a fan of the game, this is definitely good news. If nothing else, it means that we’ll all be able to enjoy the full Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes experience without having to spend any extra money. Content exclusivity be damned.
