Tori (Amber Skye Noyes) may be dead, but Sam (Tom Everett Scott), Agent Landon’s husband who’s been assumed dead for the last six years, is miraculously alive. On the surface this may seem like the lesser of two evils. Tori was, after all, an untamed beast prone to jealous temper tantrums. Plus, she was standing in the way of true love. But it looks like Beauty and the Beast has pulled a fast one on us.
It turns out that Sam is actually involved in the malicious plot to pick up where Muirfield left off and create their own version of beasts, which is inexplicably tied to Cat’s (Kristin Kreuk) lineage. And, what’s worse, is that they are willing to do so by any means necessary. Great, just what Cat and Vincent (Jay Ryan) need. Another ingenious plot to develop super strong mercenaries for less than moral reasons.
In this episode of Beauty and the Beast, Cat and her loyal band of semi-vetted investigators are hunting down any lead they can find in order to smoke out the man responsible for Tori’s death and the beast-related experiments. A trip back to the dungeon where JT (Austin Basis) and Sam were being held revealed that there was a secret chamber underneath the cells.
Cat becomes increasingly suspicious when she discovers that there are bone shards in a crematory type oven down there. She starts to pick apart Sam’s story and comes to the conclusion that his recollection is either way off, or he’s lying. When Sam is formally brought in for questioning, he points the finger at Gabe (Sendhil Ramamurthy). Subsequently, the team discovers some startling evidence that may corroborate his involvement (which is later found to be more of a coincidence).
This has been a huge season for Gabe. We saw his character evolve from a beast with a revenge plot, gunning for Vincent, to a crucial member of Cat’s faction of do-gooders. Not only has he won the hearts of fans with his 180 degree transformation, but he’s captured Cat’s as well.
