The media blitz for Muppets Most Wanted is gaining momentum as we get closer to its release date. For today’s Super Bowl festivities we get a double dose of Muppets as a new trailer for the film is unveiled as well as a Toyota ad featuring Jim Henson’s creations and Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Terry Crews.

Oh, you thought the newest Muppets film would come and go with no cross-promotion? Well, then you’re probably not familiar with how Hollywood has worked for the last decade. Yeah, it’s kind of sad seeing Fonzie and Gonzo shilling for a car company, but there’s also a Superbowl going on, so you’re going to get bludgeoned with advertisements whether you like it or not. You might as well enjoy the ride, which happens to be in a smart-looking Toyota crossover vehicle.

If you’re more interested in learning about the film than shopping for cars, though, here’s the official synopsis:

“Disney’s ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit the Frog—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.”

Muppets Most Wanted isn’t hitting theaters until March 31st, so don’t worry; it won’t interfere with your game day plans. Check out the new trailer and the Toyota commercial below and let us know what you think in the comments section.
