New One Sheet And Character Posters For The LEGO Movie

Today sees the release of the official theatrical one-sheet and six new character posters for the upcoming stop-motion animated film The LEGO Movie. Written and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who brought us the first Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, along with 2012’s hugely successful 21 Jump Street, the film looks to similarly utilize the director’s playful spirit and sardonic wit.

The posters below feature our hero Emmet (Chris Pratt), the heroine Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks), Batman (Will Arnett), the evil Lord Business (Will Ferrell), “1980s-something astronaut” Benny (Charlie Day) and the wizened mage Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman). They all provide a colorful, vibrant look at the film and I really like what I’m seeing from this one so far.

As for what The Lego Movie is about, here’s the plot summary:

The film follows Emmet, a completely ordinary, rules-following, LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

The rest of the voice cast features Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman, Brie Larson, Cobie Smulders, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. It’s pretty much a veritable who’s who of comedy over the last decade, and with Lord and Miller at the helm, the film is sure to be hilarious and full of laughs.

The Lego Movie is scheduled for release in North America on February 7th, and will arrive in both 2D and 3D.
