Moviegoers looking to get a first glance at some of the hottest films coming in 2014 are in luck today! First, we saw leaked footage from X-Men: Days of Future Past, which slipped out of Fantasia Fest and found its way online. Now, we have some leaked footage of Guardians of the Galaxy from the D23 Expo, which took place this past weekend.
Unfortunately, what’s shown here is brief and far from great quality, but it does at least give us an idea of what the film will look like, which is something that many people are curious about. Set to the song Hooked on a Feeling, we see about 30 seconds of footage that provides a look at our titular heroes, as well as how some of the action will play out. Again, it’s not the clearest footage in the world but given that it was leaked, it’s not that bad and is definitely watchable.
Though it’s hard to make out exactly what is going on, I think that most fans just want to see the visual style and look that the film is going for, given that it’s a bit different than Marvel’s past efforts. On that front, the footage succeeds as it shows us how director James Gunn is going to deliver some of Marvel’s lesser-known heroes to the big screen.
Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn and stars a very impressive line-up of actors, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly and Glenn Close. The film will hit theatres on August 1, 2014!
